Donating Effectively
Make Each Dollar Count
Our MISSION
We want to educate people on the importance of evaluating charities on their effectiveness. Thus, we will have the knowledge and ability to maximize the outcome of our donations.
Evaluation Criteria

1
How many people will benefit and by how much?
This criterion measures the quantitative aspect of the charity. It looks at the pure volume of the lives that are and could be impacted.
2
Is this the most effective thing you can do?
This criterion looks at the opportunity cost of donating to the charity. There are some charities that are simply more effective and more efficient than others.
3
Is this area neglected?
This criterion looks at how much attention is already on the issue being addressed by the charity using the concept of diminishing marginal utility. Generally, if a specific area has already received a great deal of support, then we should expect it to be difficult for us to do a log of good by devoting additional resources to that area

4
What would have happened otherwise?
This criterion looks at whether a charity actually makes an impactful contribution to the area of concern. There are many times when a charity tries to improve a situation, but the changes actually made no impact or worse, a negative impact to the concern.
5
What are the chances of success?
This criterion evaluates the chances of success and the impact it would make. For example, cancer research has a very low chance of succeeding, but the impact would be life-changing and therefore is worth investing in.
